For countries other than the United States while being 16 years old or older, the following rules are used to determine which police certificate to submit:
- Country of nationality and country of current residence, if the applicant resided there 6 months or longer
- Countries of previous residences if the applicant resided there 1 year or longer
The applicant should also provide police certificate from any country where he or she was arrested irrespective of how old was when arrested, and how long he or she stayed there.
